The University of Central Arkansas’ Center for Leadership Development is hosting a one-day leadership development conference for college students who are interested in networking and focusing on setting and achieving academic and personal goals.

The 2023 Leadership Summit will be held on Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. in UCA’s HPER Center. The cost to attend the conference is $10. The summit is sponsored by Nabholz, Conway Corporation, First Security Bank and Arkansas State Parks.

“This is a great opportunity for our students to meet and network with leaders from colleges and universities in Central Arkansas,” said Steven Shook, director of the center for leadership development. “We also have two keynote speakers, Lynn Hill and Dr. Kristen Guillory, who are sure to leave the students inspired.”

Hill will be the keynote speaker for the morning portion of the summit. She is a rock climber best known for being the first woman to free climb El Capitan at Yosemite National Park. She is the author of “Climbing Free: My Life in the Vertical World.”

Guillory, the afternoon keynote speaker, is a former professor turned internationally sought-after public speaker and coach who has been featured on CBS and Fox affiliates. She uses humor, storytelling and transparency to connect with her audience.

The event is open to students from any Arkansas college, including UCA, Hendrix College, Central Baptist College, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and the University of Arkansas Community College in Morrilton.

Interested students can visit uca.edu/lead/leadership-summit to sign up or visit the Center for Leadership Development located in Ronnie Williams Student Center, room 11.
