The Central Arkansas Sugar Bears women’s volleyball team advanced to the ASUN Championship after a comeback win against North Florida on Friday night at Alico Arena in Fort Myers, Florida. The Sugar Bears lost the first two sets with scores of 21–25 and 23–25 before rallying to win the next three sets 25–21, 25–17, and 15–10.
Gabby Tuiaana led Central Arkansas offensively with 18 kills and a .438 hitting percentage. Laci Bohannan contributed 17 kills, while McKinzee Haas added 12 kills and led the team with six blocks. Setter Caylan Koons recorded 53 assists, nine digs, five blocks, and three aces.
Libero Alexis McDaniel provided defensive strength with 27 digs as Central Arkansas improved its blocking late in the match, ending with a total of 24 blocks.
With this victory, Central Arkansas’s record stands at 18–11. The team will compete for the ASUN Championship title on November 23 at noon CST.
