The University of Central Arkansas Bears men’s basketball team is set to face the #15 ranked Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday, December 13. The game will be held at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville, Tennessee, with tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
This marks the second meeting between the two teams in recent years. Their previous encounter took place in Nashville in 2023, where Vanderbilt secured a narrow 75-71 victory. Javion Guy-King is the only current Central Arkansas player who participated in that game; he contributed 11 points and five rebounds.
Central Arkansas enters the matchup with a record of 4-6. The team is looking to use this non-conference contest as preparation ahead of their ASUN conference opener on New Year’s Day. Cam Hunter leads the Bears this season, averaging 15.9 points per game, while Ty Robinson adds an average of 12 points per game. As a team, Central Arkansas has shot 42.9% from the field, made 31.4% of its three-point attempts, and converted free throws at a rate of 60.1%.
Vanderbilt remains undefeated at 9-0 and boasts one of the top offenses nationally, averaging 96.8 points per game—ranking fourth among all NCAA Division I teams. Duke Miles leads Vanderbilt with an average of 17.8 points per game while shooting at a rate of 52%. Tyler Tanner contributes significantly as well, scoring an average of 16.2 points per game and making shots at a rate of 57%. Collectively, Vanderbilt shoots 53% from the field, hits three-pointers at a rate of 39%, and makes free throws at a rate of 75%.
