The Central Arkansas Bears men’s basketball team is set to face the University of Arkansas Razorbacks on Tuesday in Fayetteville. Both teams enter the game with a 1-1 record this season. This will be the fourth meeting between the two programs, with Arkansas having won all previous encounters.
Cole McCormick is the only returning Bears player who recorded statistics in last year’s matchup against the Razorbacks, finishing that game with four points, one rebound, and two steals.
For Central Arkansas this season, Ty Robinson leads scoring with an average of 12.5 points per game, followed by Cole McCormick at 10.5 points per game. Rashad Bolden has been effective on the boards, averaging five rebounds per contest. The team is currently shooting 43 percent from the field, 33 percent from three-point range, and 71 percent from the free throw line.
Arkansas comes into this matchup after a loss at Michigan State but has averaged 87.5 points per game so far this season. Darius Acuff Jr. leads their scoring at 19 points per game while Meleek Thomas averages 18.5 points per contest. Nick Pringle tops their rebounding stats with an average of 7.5 rebounds and also leads in blocks at 1.5 per game. The Razorbacks are shooting 45 percent overall, including 30 percent from beyond the arc and converting on 77 percent of their free throws.
