The Central Arkansas Bears men’s basketball team will host the Eastern Washington Eagles on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the Farris Center. This marks the first time the two programs have faced each other.
Central Arkansas enters the game with a 1-4 record. The Bears are coming off a close overtime loss to Samford, where they led in most statistical categories but were ultimately defeated by a strong shooting performance from their opponent. In their most recent outing against North Texas, Cam Hunter led the Bears with 12 points, four rebounds, and two steals. During that game, Hunter reached a career milestone by scoring his 1,000th point. He is currently averaging 14.4 points per game this season, while Ty Robinson is also contributing double-digit scoring with an average of 10.6 points per game. As a team, Central Arkansas is shooting 39 percent from the field, 25 percent from three-point range, and 62 percent from the free throw line.
Eastern Washington also holds a 1-4 record as they begin a two-game road trip in the south. After playing in Conway on Sunday, the Eagles will travel to Denton, Texas to face North Texas on Tuesday. Senior guard Isaiah Moses leads Eastern Washington with an average of 18.8 points per game. Junior forward Alton Hamilton IV is adding 11 points per game for the Eagles. The team is shooting 46 percent from the field, 33 percent from beyond the arc, and 78 percent from the free throw line.
