The Central Arkansas Bears men’s basketball team is set to face East Tennessee State University (ETSU) in Freedom Hall on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. (CT). This matchup is part of the ongoing Challenge between the ASUN and Southern Conferences, marking the second game for Central Arkansas in this series. The Bears previously hosted Samford two weeks ago as their first Challenge opponent. Saturday’s contest will be the inaugural meeting between Central Arkansas and ETSU.
Central Arkansas enters the game with a 3-4 record, having recently secured two consecutive home victories by significant margins. The team defeated Eastern Washington 92-65 and followed up with an 81-60 win over Eastern Illinois. Cam Hunter led the Bears with 19 points in each game, while Ty Robinson contributed 18 points in both matchups. As a result of strong offensive performances, Central Arkansas now holds a season shooting percentage of 43% from the field and averages nearly ten three-pointers per game at a 31% success rate.
ETSU comes into the contest holding a 5-1 record and averaging 82 points per game this season. The Bucs are shooting 50% from the field, matching Central Arkansas’s three-point accuracy at 31%, and have made 72% of their free throws so far. Three players are currently averaging double-digit points for ETSU: Brian Taylor II (14.7), Cam Morris III (14.5), and Jordan McCullum (10.7). In their most recent outing, ETSU secured a decisive win against ULM with a final score of 97-55 after building an early lead.
