Central Arkansas Bears to host Eastern Illinois Panthers in non-conference matchup

The Central Arkansas Bears men’s basketball team will face the Eastern Illinois Panthers at the Farris Center on Tuesday, November 24, with tip-off scheduled for 6:30 p.m. This marks the fourth meeting between the two programs. The Bears previously won all three matchups, including their most recent game in Charleston in 2023, where they secured a 73-70 victory. In that contest, Javion Guy-King contributed six points, three rebounds, and three assists.

Central Arkansas enters the game following a strong performance against EWU on Sunday. The Bears shot 55 percent from the field and made half of their attempts from beyond the arc while forcing 22 turnovers. Five players scored in double figures: Camren Hunter (19 points), Ty Robinson (18), Luke Moore (12), Cole McCormick (11), and Javion Guy-King (10). For the season so far, Central Arkansas is shooting 41 percent from the field, 29 percent from three-point range, and 62 percent from the free throw line.

Eastern Illinois comes into Tuesday’s matchup with a record of two wins and three losses this season. Their victories include a 65-57 win over Nicholls and a 62-50 win against Tiffin University. Four Panthers are averaging double-digit points per game: Zion Fruster leads with an average of 16 points per game; Kooper Jacobi averages 11.4; Preston Turner has 11; and Terry McMorris contributes 10.6 points per game. As a team, Eastern Illinois is shooting 39 percent from the field, making 28 percent of their shots from long distance, and converting on 72 percent of their free throws.

The event also features an annual Toy Drive promotion—fans who bring a toy will receive general admission tickets for $5.
