The Central Arkansas Bears women’s golf team concluded their fall season with a third-place finish at The Judson, held at Hattiesburg Country Club in Mississippi on October 27 and 28. The tournament featured two rounds on the first day and one round on the second day.
The Bears finished the event with a total score of +2, outperforming three ASUN Conference programs: West Georgia (+20), North Alabama (+37), and Austin Peay (+64). Throughout the tournament, the team recorded 170 pars and 42 birdies.
Valeria Ramirez led Central Arkansas, finishing third individually with a score of -4. She also had the best average score on par 4 holes for the event. “Valeria Ramirez led the way for the Bears shooting -4 for the tournament, finishing in 3rd place. She led all golfers averaging 3.8 on the par 4s for the event.” Her individual round scores were even par in round one, -2 in round two, and -2 in round three.
Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir ended at -1 overall to take ninth place. Alethea Gaccion posted a +4 to finish fifteenth. Maggie Huett completed play at +8 for twenty-first place, while Nanami Hayakawa shot +13 to finish thirty-second.
The team now concludes its fall schedule and will return to competition in spring with six events leading up to the ASUN Championship in Dothan, Alabama from April 17-19.
