The Central Arkansas cross country teams are set to compete in the ASUN Championship on Friday in Jacksonville, Florida. The women’s team will begin with a 5k race at 8:15 a.m. ET, followed by the men’s 8k race at 9 a.m.
In their previous meet at the Crimson Classic in Alabama, Madeline Hill narrowly missed breaking the school record in the women’s 6k event, finishing with a time of 20:35.4. Teammates Abby Machesky and Arizona Blankenship achieved personal bests in the same race and finished among the top 100 competitors.
On the men’s side during that meet, Jack Dingman led Central Arkansas by placing 43rd with a time of 25:04.3. Mason Bickle, Trae Baker, and Ky Bickford also secured spots within the top 100 for the men’s team.
At last year’s ASUN Championships, Central Arkansas’s women placed third overall. Hill returns as a key runner after finishing 11th in last year’s championship race with a time of 17:21.7 and earning Second Team All-ASUN honors.
The men’s team finished sixth in last season’s championship and bring back Dingman—who placed 30th—and Baker, who was 42nd and named to the ASUN All-Freshman Team.
