Central Arkansas improved its season record to 9-10 overall and 4-2 in ASUN play after a commanding 98-69 win over North Florida at the Farris Center on Saturday. The Bears’ offense was effective, with nine players contributing to the scoring and six reaching double figures. The team hit 14 three-pointers and recorded 25 assists.
The game began with Central Arkansas taking an early lead after Camren Hunter scored following a turnover by North Florida’s Kent Jackson. Hunter continued to be a key player throughout the match, tying his season high with 26 points. He also made several important plays, including a three-pointer that gave the Bears a five-point advantage in the first half.
Luke Moore contributed with a career-high eight rebounds and added to the team’s momentum with fast break points late in the first half. By halftime, Central Arkansas led 50-23, helped by strong defense that included 26 rebounds and three blocks.
In the second half, Cole McCormick scored quickly off an assist from Moore. Hunter remained active on both ends of the court, adding more points through layups and free throws. Tyler Lee achieved a career-high 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Harrison Beauchamp also set a personal best with 14 points while collecting five rebounds and four assists.
Despite efforts from North Florida’s Kent Jackson, who scored from beyond the arc and inside late in the game, Central Arkansas maintained control throughout. The Bears narrowly outscored North Florida in the second half but held onto their substantial lead for a decisive victory.
Central Arkansas will play its next game on Thursday, Jan. 22 against West Georgia in Carrolton, Georgia.
