Central Arkansas was defeated by Oklahoma State 14-3 on Tuesday in a non-conference baseball game held at O’Brate Stadium in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The Bears now hold a 5-4 record for the season.

The Bears started strong with Landon Carter driving in Nate Negre in the first inning to give Central Arkansas an early lead. Negre had doubled earlier in the inning before scoring on Carter’s single. However, Oklahoma State quickly responded when Kollin Ritchie hit a two-run home run, putting the Cowboys ahead 2-1 after the first frame.

Oklahoma State extended its lead with an RBI single from Brock Thompson in the second inning and added another run in the third when Danny Wallace brought home Campbell Smithwick. By the end of three innings, Oklahoma State led 4-1.

In the fourth inning, Central Arkansas scored an unearned run as Jack Runsick reached base on an error and later scored on Jagger Schattle’s sacrifice fly. Oklahoma State answered with a ten-run outburst during their half of the inning.

Central Arkansas managed one more run in the fifth when Carter scored on Runsick’s double to right center. Neither team scored again for the rest of the game.

On the mound, Jacob Pannell started for Central Arkansas, pitching two innings and allowing three runs on three hits—including a home run—while striking out two and walking three batters. Tobin Cantrill came out of the bullpen to pitch two scoreless innings without allowing a hit and recorded two strikeouts with just one walk.

Jack Runsick finished with one run, one hit, one RBI, and one double. Jagger Schattle collected one RBI and drew two walks. Nate Negre had one run, one hit, and one double while Landon Carter contributed one run, one hit, and one RBI.

Central Arkansas will next play South Dakota State University at Bear Stadium this Friday at 4 p.m.
