Central Arkansas achieved its 11th straight win on Thursday night, defeating Stetson 88-76 at the Edmunds Center in DeLand, Florida. The Bears now hold an 18-10 overall record and a 13-2 mark in ASUN play. This win ties the program’s Division I-era record for most victories in a single season.
The Bears built an early lead with strong offensive execution and capitalized on Stetson’s turnovers, scoring 28 points off their opponent’s mistakes. Central Arkansas recorded seven steals in the first half alone and finished with a commanding 52-26 advantage at halftime.
Camren Hunter led Central Arkansas with 30 points, including a perfect six-for-six from the free throw line. He also contributed six assists and four steals. Ty Robinson added 11 points, hitting three of six attempts from beyond the arc, while collecting five rebounds and four steals. Cole McCormick scored 12 points with four assists and two steals. Luke Moore contributed 11 points, three assists, and one block.
In the second half, Javion Guy-King opened with three consecutive layups to maintain momentum for Central Arkansas. Stetson’s Ethan Copeland responded by narrowing the deficit with several three-pointers but was unable to close the gap as Hunter secured the victory by converting all his free throws in the closing minutes.
Central Arkansas will next face Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday, February 21 at 1 p.m. CT in Fort Myers, Florida.
