The Central Arkansas men’s soccer team will play its final regular season match on Saturday against Lipscomb, with the outcome affecting postseason arrangements. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
Central Arkansas, holding a record of 4-8-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the ASUN Conference, has already secured a place in the upcoming ASUN Championship. However, the team could earn the right to host part of the tournament if it wins against Lipscomb and performs better than Bellarmine, with whom it is currently tied in the standings.
Last weekend, Central Arkansas concluded its home schedule by defeating Queens 2-1. Goals from Devonte Richards and Michael Oliveri ensured a perfect home record for the Bears this season.
The previous meeting between Central Arkansas and Lipscomb ended in a 5-2 victory for Central Arkansas. Four different players scored for the Bears during that match, with Maxim Sheenkov contributing two goals and an assist.
Lipscomb enters Saturday’s game with a record of 1-8-6 overall and remains winless in conference play at 0-2-3. Despite these results, Lipscomb is still tied for third place in the ASUN Gold Division alongside Queens, which leaves both teams with a chance to qualify for the ASUN Championship.
In recent matches, Lipscomb has drawn three consecutive games—against Queens, Bellarmine, and Louisville—and has seen four different players score five goals over their last four games.
Saturday’s match will be available to watch on ESPN+, with live statistics accessible online.
