The Central Arkansas men’s soccer team has received four selections in the ASUN Conference postseason awards, following earlier academic honors. The announcement includes one First Team selection, two Second Team placements, and one player named to the All-Freshman list.

Devonte Richards was recognized as a First Team selection for his performance in his final season. Richards led Central Arkansas with five goals, ranking third overall in the conference. He was also one of only two players in the league to score three game-winning goals, two of which came during conference play. According to the ASUN, “He headlined an offense that was tied for the best scoring offense during conference games, and his three ASUN goals were tied for first place in the conference.” The release notes that he was “the only player in the entire conference to log multiple game-winners during conference play.”

Defender Elijah Bishop and forward Maxim Sheenkov were named to the Second Team. Bishop played 1,016 minutes across 13 appearances as a central defender. Despite injuries affecting other starters on defense throughout the year, Bishop contributed to two shutouts and helped limit four other opponents to just one goal each. He also scored once this season on a set piece against Bellarmine.

Sheenkov finished second on the team with ten points by scoring four goals and adding two assists. His four-goal streak came during a crucial part of the season when Central Arkansas earned points in three consecutive ASUN matches. Sheenkov led all players in points during conference play with eight (three goals and two assists). He also ranked at the top of the league for goals scored during this period.

Freshman Vaclav Kozeny made an impact as a midfielder, earning a spot on the All-Freshman list. Kozeny scored twice and provided one assist while contributing defensively to help achieve two shutouts and hold four additional opponents to single goals over matches played at home.

Central Arkansas concluded its season with these individual recognitions highlighting both offensive strength and defensive efforts within their squad.
