The Central Arkansas men’s soccer team concluded its regular season with a loss at Lipscomb on Saturday. Despite the defeat, the team secured the No. 2 seed in the ASUN Gold Division for postseason play.

Central Arkansas finished the regular season with an overall record of 4-9-2 and a conference record of 3-2-1 in ASUN competition. Kyle Schwarz scored his first collegiate goal, providing the Bears’ only score of the match.

In the opening minutes, both teams created opportunities. Vaclav Kozeny and Kaisei Matsudo each had shots on target before ten minutes had elapsed. Lipscomb responded by scoring in the 11th minute to take an early lead.

Lucas Shearer nearly tied the game for Central Arkansas in the 21st minute, but his attempt was saved by Lipscomb’s goalkeeper. Four minutes later, Lipscomb extended its advantage to 2-0—a margin that remained through halftime. During the first half, Lipscomb outshot Central Arkansas 15-8.

Early in the second half, Aby Gomez assisted Schwarz for a goal inside the box, reducing Lipscomb’s lead to one. However, Lipscomb quickly answered with another goal just two minutes later and continued to add to their total until time expired.

Despite this final regular-season setback, Central Arkansas advances as the No. 2 seed from the ASUN Gold Division and will prepare for postseason competition.
