The Central Arkansas men’s soccer team is set to host Queens University on Saturday at the Bill Stephens Complex, with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m. The match will also serve as Senior Night, with the Bears honoring their eight seniors prior to the game.

Central Arkansas enters the contest with a record of 3-8-2 overall and 2-1-1 in ASUN conference play. The team started October strong, earning points in its first three conference matches, including victories over Bellarmine and Lipscomb. However, recent losses to No. 25 SMU and Bellarmine have slowed their momentum.

With two games remaining in the regular season, Central Arkansas needs at least a draw to secure a spot in the ASUN Championship.

The previous meeting between Central Arkansas and Queens ended in a 1-1 draw in Charlotte. Maxim Sheenkov scored an equalizer before halftime in that match and has since become the team’s leading scorer. Sheenkov has four goals and one assist this season, scoring on half of his eight shots, six of which have been on target. For comparison, the ASUN’s leading scorer has eight goals on 34 shots.

The senior class being honored on Saturday has contributed to 21 wins and two appearances in the ASUN Championship Finals, including last year’s final. Among them is four-year player Pietro Fontana, who has scored 23 career goals and earned multiple all-conference and all-region honors.

Queens University arrives with a 5-5-5 overall record and is 0-1-3 in ASUN play. The Royals have drawn their last three matches, including a scoreless tie at No. 19 Duke earlier this week. Queens has relied on strong defense throughout the season, allowing multiple goals in only two games since late August, and just once in conference play. Offensively, Queens has scored 11 goals in 15 matches, with only three players scoring more than once. The team has recorded six shutouts this year.

The match will be available for streaming on ESPN+, and live statistics can be accessed online. Admission to the game is free.
