Central Arkansas men’s basketball team secured a 72-65 win over North Alabama on Monday night at CB&S Bank Arena at Flowers Hall. The Bears, now holding a 15-10 overall record and 10-2 in ASUN conference play, overcame an eight-point halftime deficit by outscoring the Lions 43-28 in the second half. This marks Central Arkansas’ eighth straight victory and their fourth consecutive win on the road.
North Alabama started strong, with Donte Bacchus scoring a tip-in just seconds into the game. The Lions used their inside presence to score 24 points in the paint during the first half. Despite efforts from Central Arkansas—including a three-pointer by Truman Byrne and multiple baskets from Ty Robinson—the Bears trailed 37-29 at halftime.
In the second half, Javion Guy-King opened scoring for Central Arkansas with a three-pointer assisted by Robinson. The Bears increased defensive pressure, forcing North Alabama into 19 turnovers and converting those into 25 points. Central Arkansas took its first lead of the game with just over six minutes remaining.
Camren Hunter played a key role for Central Arkansas, finishing with 28 points on 8-of-12 shooting and making all nine of his free throw attempts. He also made important plays late in the game, including a fast-break layup and several free throws that helped secure the win.
Cole McCormick contributed 10 points—making all six of his free throws—and recorded two steals. Malchiah Marable added six points, six rebounds, and two steals.
Central Arkansas will next face Bellarmine at home in the Farris Center on Wednesday, February 11 at 6:30 p.m.
