The Central Arkansas track and field teams are set to conclude their indoor regular season by sending five athletes to the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas this weekend.
Representing the men’s team are seniors Jack Dingman and Jaden Schneeberger. Dingman will compete in both the 800-meter run and the one-mile run. His most recent performance was at the Washburn Open and Multi meet in late January, where he finished sixth out of 58 competitors in the one-mile run with a time of 4:04.96. He also placed 19th out of 55 in the 800-meter with a time of 1:54.08. Dingman holds the Central Arkansas indoor school record for the one-mile run, which he set in 2024 with a time of 4:03.39.
Schneeberger is scheduled to participate in the shot put and weight throw events. At last weekend’s Wooo Pig Classic, he took second place in the weight throw with a mark of 20.10 meters (65-11.5). Earlier at the Washburn Open and Multi, Schneeberger won first place in the weight throw with a distance of 19.56 meters (64-2.25) and placed fourth in shot put with a throw of 16.61 meters (54-6). He currently holds the school’s indoor record for shot put at 16.80 meters.
On the women’s side, Madeline Hill will compete in the 3000-meter run, Joia Perry will take part in the weight throw, and Bailee Villavaso will enter the pole vault event.
Hill recently finished sixth out of 30 competitors in her last 3000-meter race at the Arkansas Invitational on January 16, recording a time of 9:50.66.
Perry comes into this meet after winning first place in last weekend’s Wooo Pig Classic weight throw event with a mark of 20.08 meters (65-10.5), which was nearly two-and-a-half meters ahead of her closest competitor. She previously broke her own school record for indoor weight throw at the Washburn Open and Multi by reaching a distance of 20.42 meters (67-0).
Villavaso recently finished fifth in pole vault at last week’s Wooo Pig Classic by clearing a height of 3.85 meters (12-7.5). She had earlier set a new school record at Washburn Open and Multi by clearing 4.02 meters (13-2.25), surpassing her previous best by almost eighteen inches.
