The Central Arkansas softball team will travel to Oxford, Mississippi, for a midweek matchup against the Ole Miss Rebels on Wednesday. The game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

Central Arkansas, with a current record of 9-6, recently completed the Michelle Short & Adam Brown Memorial Collegiate Classic with three wins and two losses. During the tournament, the Bears secured two victories over Saint Louis and one over Evansville. LJ Smith recorded a .471 batting average across six games last week, including a win over Northern Iowa. Grace Molitor contributed two home runs and led the team with eight runs batted in during the weekend. Pitcher Bailie Runner maintained a 1.47 earned run average, won three games, and achieved her first career no-hitter against Northern Iowa.

Trinity Brandon has been consistent at the plate this season, posting a .360 batting average along with seven doubles and one home run. She is among five Bears who have reached double digits in hits this year. Brandon has also played a key role defensively at third base, being one of three players on the team with more than 30 assists and participating in three of the team’s 13 double plays.

Ole Miss enters the contest with an 11-5 record after finishing 4-1 at the Green and Gold Classic in Birmingham, Alabama. The Rebels outscored their opponents by a combined total of 37-4 over five games and recorded three shutouts during that stretch. Their only loss was to Missouri State by a score of 3-2.

The Rebels’ offense holds a .334 team batting average through 16 games and has tallied 149 hits, including 22 doubles and 20 home runs. They have drawn 62 walks and have an on-base percentage of .427 while recording 22 stolen bases so far this season. In pitching, Ole Miss has allowed an earned run average of just 2.74 as a staff, highlighted by Emilee Boyer’s individual ERA of 1.97 across 32 innings pitched. Boyer has struck out 28 batters while issuing nine walks; she is one of three pitchers on her team holding opposing hitters below a .200 batting average.
