The Central Arkansas Sugar Bears secured a 3–1 victory over West Georgia on Sunday at The Coliseum in Carrollton, Georgia. This win marks their seventh ASUN Conference victory of the season, improving their record to 10–8 overall and 7–1 in conference play.
Central Arkansas displayed a balanced offensive effort and strong net defense, out-blocking West Georgia by an 11–8 margin and achieving a team hitting percentage of .220. Junior outside hitter Laci Bohannan led the team with 18 kills and 10 digs, earning her sixth double-double this season. McKinzee Haas contributed 13 kills with a .667 hitting percentage, while Gabby Tuiaana added nine kills and four block assists. Greyson Button recorded five kills and led all players with seven total blocks.
Setter Caylan Koons provided 46 assists along with seven digs and four block assists. Alexis McDaniel anchored the defense with a team-high 16 digs and three service aces. The Sugar Bears finished the match with seven aces compared to two for West Georgia.
Central Arkansas won the first set 25–19 before dropping the second set narrowly at 22–25. They regained control in the third set with a score of 25–19 and closed out the match by taking the fourth set 26–24.
For West Georgia, Grace-Blythe Cornett had a team-high 17 kills, followed by Valiree Schmus with 16 and Molly Brunell with 10.
With this result, Central Arkansas remains near the top of the ASUN standings as they prepare to host Bellarmine on October 24 at Bruce Street and EKU on October 26 at Prince Center.
