The Central Arkansas Sugar Bears volleyball team is preparing for a significant weekend in ASUN conference play. The team will first travel to North Alabama for a match scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Tonight’s game in Florence serves as a crucial test for the Sugar Bears before they return home.
On Saturday, Central Arkansas will host Jacksonville at the Prince Center, with the match set to start at 11 a.m. This event will also mark Senior Day, where the Sugar Bears will honor their senior players during their final regular-season home appearance. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the pre-match ceremony recognizing the team’s senior class.
The Sugar Bears currently hold a 10-10 overall record and are 7-3 in ASUN play. The team’s offense is led by Laci Bohannan with 227 kills, followed by Gabby Tuiaana with 182 and Samantha Cousins with 139. Setter Caylan Koons has contributed 627 assists along with 13 service aces and 136 digs.
Defensively, Alexis McDaniel leads with 310 digs, while McKinzee Haas tops the blocking statistics with 75 blocks. Tuiaana and Greyson Button have added 54 and 51 blocks respectively. At the service line, McDaniel also leads with 24 aces, followed by Bohannan with 19 and Ella Chaney with 16.
The upcoming matches are important as Central Arkansas continues to compete among the top teams in the league.
