The Central Arkansas Sugar Bears women’s volleyball team is preparing for a two-game road trip in Tennessee, where they will face Austin Peay and Lipscomb in important ASUN Conference matches. The first game is scheduled for Thursday, November 7 at Austin Peay, followed by a matchup against Lipscomb in Nashville on Saturday, November 9.
Currently holding a record of 12–10 overall and 9–3 in conference play, the Sugar Bears are on a two-match winning streak and remain near the top of the ASUN standings as postseason approaches. Team leaders include Laci Bohannan with 265 kills, Gabby Tuiaana with 210 kills, and Samantha Cousins with 154. Setter Caylan Koons has contributed significantly to the team’s offense with 677 assists and has added 14 service aces.
Defensively, Alexis McDaniel leads the team with 26 service aces and also tops the squad with 337 digs. Bohannan (167 digs) and Koons (147 digs) have provided support in defense as well. At the net, McKinzee Haas leads with 90 blocks, while Greyson Button and Tuiaana each have recorded 60 blocks.
Austin Peay enters Thursday’s contest with a record of 4–20 overall and 2–10 in conference play. The Governors are currently on a four-match losing streak and have yet to win at home this season. Lipscomb holds an even record at 11–11 overall and is coming off a home victory that put them above .500 in ASUN competition.
The Sugar Bears have performed well on the road this season, holding a 5–3 away record as they aim to continue their strong form ahead of tournament play.
