The Central Arkansas women’s basketball team has announced the signing of three new players for the 2026-27 season. Head coach Tony Kemper described the incoming class as a group with strong skills and character. “We are excited to add this group of high school players to our program. We believe that they bring a skill set, attitude and personality that will make them successful here at UCA,” said Kemper. “They are excellent students who will be positive additions to the Central Arkansas student body and athletic department.”
Faith McCallop, from Kansas City, Kansas, joins as a point guard with notable experience in both passing and scoring. She earned MVP honors in her state championship game during her freshman year and accumulated two state titles, three sub-state championships, and three state qualifiers throughout high school. McCallop also helped lead teams to top finishes at EYBL Nike Nationals in consecutive years. Coach Kemper commented on her abilities: “Faith is an athletic point guard who has been successful against the best guards in the country. She is a natural leader with tremendous ability to control a game and create shots for herself and her teammates.”
Avery Mier comes from Klein, Texas, as a combo forward known for scoring versatility and defensive presence. Mier received multiple MVP awards at district, state, and regional levels; she was named NCHBC Player of the Year twice and selected as an All-American two times. In 2023-24, she led her team into several championship games across various levels before winning district and regional championships the following year. According to Coach Kemper: “Avery is a combo forward with great length and skill. She can score both inside and out with tremendous range and natural ability to win off the bounce.”
Sami Sheaffer arrives from Bartlesville High School in Oklahoma after earning over 1,000 career points along with district newcomer of the year honors and all-district selection status. As a junior, she averaged 14 points per game along with six rebounds, three assists, and three steals per contest while helping turn around her school’s record on the court. Coach Kemper noted: “Sami is a long, aggressive guard that can play across the perimeter. She is an active rebounder that excels at attacking inside but also through perimeter shooting.”
All three signees have demonstrated academic excellence during their high school careers by maintaining honor roll status or equivalent distinctions.
