Central Arkansas swept the ASUN Outdoor Track and Field Championships for the second consecutive year, according to a May 16 announcement. The men’s team scored 229 points, finishing ahead of North Florida by 65 points, while the women’s team earned 215 points, defeating Lipscomb by a margin of 99 points.
The results highlight Central Arkansas’s continued dominance in both men’s and women’s track and field within the conference. Success at this event underscores the program’s strength across multiple disciplines.
On the final day of competition, Central Arkansas athletes secured 16 podium finishes, including nine gold medals. Nathan Uptagrafft was named Men’s Most Valuable Performer after winning gold in the decathlon and earning additional top-five finishes in pole vault, shot put, and javelin. Brenae Allen received Women’s Most Valuable Performer honors with gold medal performances in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and as part of the winning 4×100 relay team.
Head coach Josey Weaver was recognized as Outdoor Men’s and Women’s Head Coach of the Year for a second straight season. “After scoring 22.5 points with gold medal finishes in the 100-meter and 200-meter dash and 4×100 relay, Brenae Allen was recognized as the Women’s Most Valuable Performer for the Championships,” according to Central Arkansas.
Additional highlights included Maverick Walker’s triple jump victory at 15.18 meters; Jaden Schneeberger setting a new school record with an 18.49 meter shot put; Sadie Hamby’s javelin win at over forty-one meters; Zoe Williams taking first place in the women’s hurdles; Keaton Hansard securing gold in both individual sprints; Clifton McBride winning gold in men’s sprints; Xavier Simpkins earning bronze in hurdles; and multiple other scoring performances from Bears athletes across events.
