Central Arkansas sweeps Eastern Kentucky in straight sets

Central Arkansas secured a 3-0 victory over Eastern Kentucky in Richmond, Kentucky on Thursday night. The Sugar Bears improved their overall record to 14-11 and moved to 11-4 in ASUN Conference play. With this win, Central Arkansas is now tied with Eastern Kentucky in the conference standings.

The team showed strong offensive performance, recording a .237 hitting percentage while limiting Eastern Kentucky to .105. Laci Bohannan led the match with 13 kills, also contributing four digs and two blocks. Gabby Tuiaana added eight kills and finished with 11 points. McKinzee Haas was efficient at the net, posting six kills on a .667 hitting percentage.

Setter Caylan Koons directed the offense with 30 assists and collected eight digs, along with one service ace and one block assist. Ella Chaney led the defense with 12 digs, while Alexis McDaniel contributed nine digs and two service aces.

Central Arkansas established control early by nearly reaching a .400 hitting percentage in the first set. Although Eastern Kentucky challenged in the third set with several lead changes, Central Arkansas maintained composure to complete the sweep.
