The Central Arkansas track and field teams will begin their 2026 indoor season on Friday at the Arkansas Invitational in Fayetteville. The event starts at noon with the men’s shot put, followed by women’s pole vault and 60-meter preliminaries at 12:30 p.m.

A total of 15 schools are scheduled to participate in the meet, including Arkansas, Arkansas Pine Bluff, Little Rock, Coffeyville Community College, Iowa, Louisiana Tech, North Texas, Oral Roberts, Pittsburg State, Southern Mississippi, Stephen F. Austin (SFA), Texas State, Tennessee, and UT Arlington.

Central Arkansas enters the new season as defending ASUN champions after winning both indoor and outdoor titles for men’s and women’s teams in 2025. Several key athletes return this year. Jermeiah Boudreaux is back for his sophomore season after receiving multiple ASUN honors last year: Indoor Championship MVP, Outdoor Most Outstanding Freshman Performer, and Outdoor Most Outstanding Track Performer. Jaden Schneeberger also returns following his recognition as indoor ASUN Most Outstanding Field Performer. On the women’s team, Joia Perry begins her junior year after earning both indoor and outdoor Most Outstanding Field Performer awards in 2025.

Head coach Josey Weaver continues to lead Central Arkansas after a successful season in which he was named ASUN Track and Field Coach of the Year for both indoor and outdoor competitions. He also received a Raymond Bright award last year.
