The Central Arkansas track and field teams will compete at the Wooo Pig Classic in Fayetteville this Saturday. Field events are set to begin at 11 a.m., followed by running events starting at noon.
In their most recent competition, the Washburn Open and Multi meet, Central Arkansas athletes achieved notable results, breaking eight school records and earning 57 top-ten finishes. Three team members—Joia Perry, Jaden Schneeberger, and Zoe Williams—were recognized as ASUN Performers of the Week for their performances.
Jaden Schneeberger secured first place in the men’s weight throw with a distance of 19.56 meters and also finished fourth in shot put with a throw of 16.51 meters. Nathan Uptagrafft set a new school record in the heptathlon by accumulating 5,288 points to win the event.
On the women’s team, Jane Musengwa recorded a shot put mark of 14.08 meters for second place and a new school record. Madeline Hill set another school record in the 5000-meter run with a time of 16:53.21, finishing fourth overall.
Brenae Allen established a new school record in the semi-final round of the 60-meter dash with her time of 7.36 seconds. In pole vault, Bailee Villavaso improved her own record by clearing 4.02 meters to finish second.
Joia Perry broke her own weight throw school record while also setting new meet and facility marks with her first-place effort of 20.42 meters.
Zoe Williams broke two records during the meet: she set a new standard in the qualifying round of the 60-meter hurdles at 8.57 seconds and then improved it to 8.45 seconds in finals, securing third place.
