The University of Central Arkansas women’s volleyball team secured a decisive victory over Queens University, winning in straight sets (25-22, 25-14, 25-13) during Friday night’s match at Curry Arena in Charlotte, North Carolina. With this result, Central Arkansas improved its season record to 9-8 and holds a 6-1 mark in ASUN Conference play.
Central Arkansas showcased a balanced performance, achieving a .306 hitting percentage as a team while limiting Queens to .115. Laci Bohannan led the team with 11 kills, and Gabby Tuiaana added 10 kills on a .318 hitting percentage. Greyson Button contributed seven kills and three total blocks in the middle.
Setter Caylan Koons was key in directing the offense, recording 33 assists, eight digs, and two service aces. On defense, Alexis McDaniel had 13 digs, and McKinzee Haas added five kills and four blocks. The team’s serving proved effective, with six aces distributed among players, including two each from Koons and Ella Chaney.
The Sugar Bears maintained control after the midway point of the second set and went on to claim their second consecutive sweep. Their next match is scheduled against West Georgia on October 19 at noon.
