The Central Arkansas Bears Women’s Golf team began its Spring 2026 season at the Great River Cup in Monroe, Louisiana, with competition held on Monday and Tuesday. Unlike most of their events, which use a stroke play format, this tournament was structured as match play, where teams compete head-to-head with each individual aiming to win as many holes as possible. Each match featured five players from each team.
In their first match against Memphis, the Bears secured a 3.5-1.5 victory. Maggie Huett (4&2), Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir (2up), and Aubrey Marx (4&2) all won their matches. Alethea Paige Gaccion tied her match, while Emma Leroy Fabry lost (3&1).
The second match saw Central Arkansas face Southern Miss and fall 1.5-3.5. Alethea Paige Gaccion (1up) claimed a win, and Gudrun Thorsteinsdottir tied her contest. Losses came from Emma Leroy Fabry (2&1), Aubrey Marx (1down), and Maggie Huett (7&6).
Against Missouri State in the third match, Central Arkansas finished in a 2.5-2.5 tie. Wins were posted by Aubrey Marx (2&1) and Alethea Paige Gaccion (2up). Emma Leroy Fabry tied her match; Maggie Huett (3&1) and Gudrun Thorsteindottir (2&1) lost theirs.
Valeria Ramirez participated as an individual outside of the team event and recorded two wins out of three rounds.

The Central Arkansas Bears Women’s Golf program represents University of Central Arkansas athletics under the Bears mascot in Conway, Arkansas according to the official website. The team competes at the NCAA Division I level within the ASUN Conference according to the official website.
Next on the schedule for Central Arkansas is participation in the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational in Macon, Georgia from February 20 to 22.
