The Central Arkansas women’s basketball team will play its final non-conference home game of the season on Monday night, hosting Hendrix College at the Farris Center. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m.
Central Arkansas enters the matchup with a 5-2 record after participating in a Thanksgiving Tournament in Atlanta, Georgia. During the tournament, the Sugar Bears won three games over three days by an average margin of 23 points. Shae Littleford led the offense last week, averaging 13 points per game. Bree Stephens contributed with averages of 12.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.3 blocks per game, including her second double-double of the season against Georgia State.
Early in the season, Central Arkansas has shown depth and balance across its roster. Nine players have made ten or more field goals so far this year; five have recorded at least ten three-pointers; and six players have tallied double-digit assists. Defensively, they are holding opponents to an average of 58 points per game.
The two teams last met on opening night last year at the Farris Center, where Central Arkansas defeated Hendrix 104-30. In that contest, Cheyanne Kemp scored 17 points with five three-pointers and Jenna Cook added 14 points with two three-pointers.
Hendrix comes into Monday’s contest with a record of 1-2 this season. They split two games against Lyon College and lost to Southwestern University. Most recently, Hendrix fell to Lyon by six points (80-74). Brooklyn Rowe led Hendrix in that game with 18 points while Brailey Forst posted her second double-double of the season with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Through three games this year for Hendrix, Rowe is leading her team in scoring with an average of 12.3 points per game and also contributes 6.7 rebounds each night. Forst averages 11.7 points and leads Hendrix with 13 rebounds per contest; she has reached double figures in rebounding every game this season.
