The Central Arkansas women’s basketball team will play its final regular season game on Friday, hosting Queens at the Farris Center. The game is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m., and prior to tip-off, the program will recognize its senior class for their contributions.
Central Arkansas enters the matchup following an eight-game winning streak, having recently defeated North Alabama. The victory improved the team’s record to 19-10 overall and 12-5 in ASUN conference play. Jenna Cook led the team with a career-high 17 points, while Cheyanne Kemp and Shae Littleford added 13 and 12 points respectively. This win secured Central Arkansas a top-four seed in the upcoming ASUN Championship and a first-round bye.
The Sugar Bears are positioned to reach 20 wins for a third consecutive season, a feat last accomplished from 2015 to 2018—a period that included two NCAA Tournament appearances. Depending on results from Jacksonville and Stetson, Central Arkansas could secure anywhere from a second to fourth seed in the conference tournament.
Five seniors will be honored before the game. Zoe Hubbs has served as student manager for four years, handling organizational tasks behind the scenes. Kaidyn Beckwith is recognized for her early graduation and role as a walk-on player exemplifying teamwork. Julianna Gibson concludes her collegiate career with nearly 500 points and over 300 rebounds across 106 games.
Shae Littleford reaches this milestone after scoring more than 1,300 career points between her time at UT Martin and Central Arkansas. She has set personal bests in several statistical categories since joining the Sugar Bears. Stephens is highlighted as one of the top defensive players in program history, holding records for blocks since Central Arkansas moved to Division I and ranking among leaders in defensive rebounds, steals, and assists.
Head coach Tony Kemper credits this senior class—largely comprised of transfers—with helping establish Central Arkansas as a consistent contender within the ASUN Conference. With key contributions from Stephens, Beckwith, Gibson, and Littleford, the team has reached two ASUN Championship Finals and aims for another strong postseason run.
Earlier this season, Central Arkansas defeated Queens in Charlotte by a score of 64-39—a result that began their current winning streak. In that contest, Cheyanne Kemp posted career highs with 26 points and ten rebounds.
Queens arrives at Friday’s game with a record of 10-18 overall and 4-13 in conference play. The Royals recently earned a ten-point win over West Georgia behind Dayuna Colvin’s 21 points.
Friday’s game will be available via ESPN+ streaming platform with live statistics online. Fans can also listen to radio coverage on The Bear 91.3 with Steve Owens providing commentary.
