Central Arkansas women’s soccer secured a 3-2 victory over Eastern Kentucky on Sunday at the Bill Stephens Complex in Conway. The win marked the Bears’ first three-goal match since late September and improved their season record to 6-8-2 overall and 3-4-2 in ASUN conference play.
Megan Moudy opened the scoring early for Central Arkansas with a penalty kick, her second successful attempt of the season. Trace Pavatt added a second goal after receiving a pass from Caroline Billings, giving the Bears a 2-0 lead. Eastern Kentucky responded with a goal just before halftime, narrowing the deficit to one.
In the second half, Pavatt assisted Sophia Backstrom for the Bears’ third goal, making Central Arkansas the first ASUN team to score three goals against Eastern Kentucky this season. Eastern Kentucky managed to score again, but Central Arkansas maintained their lead to secure the win.
The result continued a trend in the series, with the home team winning every match and each contest being decided by a single goal.
Central Arkansas will conclude its regular season on Saturday, hosting North Alabama for Senior Day at 1 p.m., with pre-match festivities planned to honor senior players.
