The University of Arkansas Community College-Morrilton reported no increase in out-of-state tuition fees for the 2022-23 academic year, based on the latest information released, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Arkansas residents enrolled at the two-year public college paid $3,576 this year, marking a $120 increase from the $3,456 charged during the 2021-22 academic year.

Non-resident students faced tuition fees 15.4% higher than those for in-state students in 2022-23, totaling $4,128. This amount remained unchanged from the previous year.

Approximately 98% of the undergraduate student body at the college are Arkansas residents, while residents from other states and international students each represent about 1%.

Financial aid was granted to 94% of full-time undergraduates who began their studies at the University of Arkansas Community College-Morrilton in 2022-23. A total of 378 students received grants or scholarships amounting to $2 million, and 38 students obtained student loans exceeding $188,797.

Across the entire undergraduate population, 1,517 students benefited from grants or scholarships totaling $6.2 million. Additionally, 226 students secured federal student loans amounting to $1.2 million.

Undergraduate education costs have seen a significant increase over the past few decades. Data shows a 169% rise in the average total cost, including tuition, fees, room, and board, between 1980 and 2020.

According to a 2023 College Board report, in-state students at public universities paid an average of $11,260, while out-of-state students paid $29,150 in the 2023-24 academic year.

Meanwhile, student loan debt has steadily increased over the last 30 years, reaching $1.75 trillion in 2024, averaging a total of $28,950 per borrower. Federal loans make up 92% of the debt, with over half of students at both public and private four-year colleges graduating with student loans.
