The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office announced on April 7 that it will join other law enforcement agencies in the county for the Battle of the Badges Tip-a-Cop Showdown at Texas Roadhouse, supporting Special Olympics Arkansas. The event is scheduled for April 14 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Texas Roadhouse, located at 650 S Amity Road in Conway.

The Tip-a-Cop event aims to raise funds and awareness for athletes participating in Special Olympics Arkansas by having local law enforcement officers wait tables and collect donations. All proceeds from the evening will go directly to support these athletes.

Law enforcement agencies across Arkansas are taking part in similar events at their local Texas Roadhouse locations, with a friendly competition between counties. The Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office invited residents to participate and help showcase community support during this statewide effort.

Tim Ryals, sheriff of the Faulkner County Sheriff’s Office, has experience in narcotics investigation, aviation, highway patrol, drug interdiction, K-9 units and SWAT teams, according to the official website. The office serves as the primary law enforcement entity for Faulkner County government and focuses on enhancing residents’ quality of life through professional efforts in unincorporated areas according to its official website.

The Sheriff’s Office also manages detention facilities with a capacity for 424 adult detainees and 16 juveniles across two units designated for maximum security males as well as males and females according to its official website. In addition to criminal investigations and patrols, services include animal control and victim assistance programs aimed at promoting welfare through educational initiatives according to its official website.

The office promotes community safety by sharing tips, alerts and educational messages about seasonal risks on social media channels such as #FaulknerCountyLaw and #FCSONews according to its official website. Organizers hope that events like Tip-a-Cop will further strengthen ties between local law enforcement agencies and residents while supporting important causes.
