Greenbrier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, owned by Michael Morton as of the first quarter of 2026, is listed in the records of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Morton has held ownership of the facility, based in Faulkner County, since July 11, 2006.

This facility operates as a for-profit entity.

During this period, the nursing center held a five-star overall CMS rating, which exceeded the Arkansas state average of 3.4 for nursing homes. The CMS rating system assesses facilities on factors including results of health inspections, staffing statistics, and the quality of care provided to residents.

The data shows Greenbrier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center served about 81.9 residents per day in early 2026, providing 90 available beds. The center is currently not hospital-affiliated.

The nursing home did not receive any fines or penalties in the first quarter of 2026.

Faulkner County reported a total of six for-profit nursing homes.

U.S. Census Bureau estimates show a rising older adult population across the country as younger demographics decline. The number of residents ages 65 and older grew by 13% between 2020 and 2024, while those under 18 decreased by 1.7%. Over the past 100 years, the older adult segment of the U.S. population has risen sharply, climbing from 4.9 million in 1920 to more than 61 million in 2024.

Results from a 2021 study indicate that about half of these older adults, nearly 28 million, are likely to need either long-term services or support, and more than one-third may require care in a nursing facility.

“Living a long life is something that many of us want and could get,” commented Jesse Slome, executive director of the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance, an insurance education group. “But when we live a long life, the chances of us needing long-term care increase exponentially. But when you need that type of care, there are limited options.”
