Mt. Vernon-Enola High School issued the following announcement on Oct. 28.
As part of Red Ribbon Week, all advisory groups are watching "7 Days, The Opioid Crisis in Arkansas". The film's title refers to the fact that a person who is prescribed opioids for seven days has a one-in-10 chance of still being on opioids a year later. It's easy to become addicted to opioids.
Daily public service announcements are being shared with students regarding the dangers of vaping and opioids.
Friday students are encouraged to bring their books and an object that represents a healthy lifestyle in anything but a backpack as a fun day.
