St. Joseph Church - Conway issued the following announcement on Mar. 13.
The Steering Committee for the Delta Disciples Mission Trip has been planning logistics, recruiting volunteers and soliciting potential projects. The trip is scheduled for March 24-27. The annual Empty Bowls event held in the Spiritan Center which benefits Bethlehem House was moved from a February date to April 20. A professional Bethlehem House video will also be screened with the meal. The “Lettuce Grow” Family Mission Trip to the St. Joseph Center in North Little Rock is being planned. A date sometime after Spring Break but before the middle of June is being contemplated. The Hand-in-Hand Ministries’ “Building for Change” trip to Belize is set for May 1-7. Ten volunteers are registered and partially paid. A planning meeting led by Hand-inHand is set for April 5. A $5,000 parish subsidy payment is being sought. A question was asked about an event tentatively scheduled for a Friday evening in May called “Poverty Simulation.” It’s a threehour program in which participants get a sense of what living in poverty can be like. It’s been described as a “moving experience.”
