Morrilton Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on May 10.
Morrilton Primary School will be hosting a ribbon-cutting kickoff event for South Conway County School District's Morrilton Mobile Library at 9:30 AM on Thursday, May 12th, 2022. Miss University of Arkansas, Taryn Bewley, and Morrilton High School Senior & Arkansas Razorback basketball signee Joseph Pinion will be present to give away children's books to MPS preschool students. During her reign as Miss University of Arkansas, Miss Bewley has focused on literacy as her platform. The Morrilton Mobile Library Project was made possible by an Arkansas Department of Education Successful Outcomes for Arkansas Readers (SOAR) grant. The mobile library will be launched summer of 2022 and enable SCCSD K-12 students throughout the district to check out books for summer and holiday reading. Please join us for this community-wide event to help support literacy.
