One of the key ingredients to Conway's success is higher education. A wealth of institutions of higher learning attracts thousands of talented young people to our area every year.
This makes talent and workforce development a priority to position Conway for the future. Having top-quality candidates both supports our established business community and attracts new businesses to the area.
We were excited to kick off a new partnership with the University of Central Arkansas yesterday, called Launch Conway, to help us accomplish those goals. Launch Conway will eventually include students from Hendrix College, Central Baptist College and the University of Arkansas Community College at Morrilton.
This program will help us retain some of the city’s best and brightest college students. Participants will learn about Conway and the various career opportunities available from existing employers, and receive life skills instruction on topics such as personal credit, how to purchase a home, and how to build a compelling resume. Each year will conclude with a matchmaking event between employers and students to help keep those high-performers in Conway.
