WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. French Hill (AR-02) on June 14,  released the following statement after the Republican Study Committee (RSC) released their Fiscal Year 2024 budget, which would implement sensible policies and work towards balancing the budget – the only budget in Congress to do so:

“The Biden Administration has implemented reckless economic policies, driving inflation to a 40-year high and significantly impacting the wallets of all Americans. RSC’s budget for Fiscal Year 2024 will balance our nation’s budget in seven years and remains the only budget in Congress that balances.

"I thank Chairman Hern for his leadership and for prioritizing a common-sense agenda that exemplifies many conservative values – growing our economy, protecting our national security, unleashing American energy, securing our border, making the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act permanent, and for including my provisions that fight inflation and help get Americans back to work. We must work towards balancing the budget and getting government spending back on track – RSC’s budget does just that.”

 Further Background:

  • Price Stability Act - This bill would end the Federal Reserve’s dual mandate and ensure the central bank concentrate exclusively on containing inflation to keep prices in check for the American people at the gas pump, in the grocery store, and when they pull out their wallets.
  • Social Security Disability Insurance Return to Work Act - This bill would restructure the Social Security Administration’s disability classification system to provide further opportunities to individuals with disabilities who can and want to work while strengthening the available safety net currently in place for Americans with disabilities.
