Two Central Arkansas men’s track and field athletes were named Atlantic Sun Conference Performers of the Week after their performances at meets in Texas, according to an April 8 announcement.
The recognition highlights the achievements of Jaden Schneeberger and Clifton McBride Jr., who stood out in their respective events at the Bobcat Invitational. The awards reflect both individual accomplishment and a strong showing for Central Arkansas within the conference.
Schneeberger was selected as men’s Field Performer of the Week following his results in both hammer throw and shot put. He set a new school outdoor record with a hammer throw mark of 64.74 meters, placing second overall. This distance currently ranks as the 30th best mark nationally and leads all competitors in the Atlantic Sun Conference this season. In addition, Schneeberger placed fifth in shot put with a toss measuring 17.19 meters, which stands as both his school’s top performance this year and holds him at number one for shot put within the conference.
McBride earned men’s Track Performer of the Week after competing in sprint events at the same meet. He finished sixth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.58 seconds, ranking third among conference sprinters so far this season. In addition, McBride placed fifteenth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.13 seconds—currently placing him ninety-eighth nationally for that event while also giving him this season’s fastest time among ASUN competitors.
Looking ahead, Central Arkansas will compete next at the Arkansas Spring Invitational on Saturday in Fayetteville, with further details about that meet expected soon.
