Ty Robinson, a redshirt freshman at the University of Central Arkansas, has been named to the ASUN All-Academic Team. The selection recognizes student-athletes who meet academic and athletic requirements, including maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.50, participating in more than half of their team’s games, and completing over half of their degree progress.

Robinson, from Hot Springs, Arkansas, is majoring in Business and currently holds a 3.7 GPA. Despite being in his second year at UCA, he has already surpassed the halfway mark toward earning his degree. On the basketball court this season, Robinson leads the Bears with 175 rebounds, ranks second on the team with 442 points scored, and is third in minutes played with 848.

Head Coach John Shulman commented on Robinson’s recognition: “Ty is the perfect definition of a student athlete. He excels on the court and in the classroom. He is a relentless worker in both areas and we are extremely proud of him. What an incredible representative for the University of Central Arkansas.”

The Central Arkansas Bears will travel to Jacksonville this week as they prepare to compete as the top seed in the ASUN Championship tournament.
