The University of Central Arkansas will host its ninth annual Day of Giving on Thursday, March 9.As part of Day of Giving, alumni, students, faculty, staff, parents, friends, and family members are challenged to donate any amount during the course of the 24-hour campaign in support of the university.

Students and others on campus may contribute to Day of Giving outside the Ronnie Williams Student Center with representatives from the UCA Student Government Association. Free hotdogs and hamburgers will be provided to the first 250 students, faculty and staff from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is sponsored by Centennial Bank and the Association of Future Alumni.

By raising funds from this event, the university is able to support a wide range of programs, providing support for both students and faculty with academic support, financial assistance, and more. The donations are incredible to the university as a whole, and they certainly make a huge difference within the campus community.

“Every year our Day of Giving event gets more inspiring,” said Haley Fowler, UCA’s director of Annual Giving. “It is wonderful to see students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members come together in a determined effort to raise funds for scholarships and programming. As we get closer to our tenth anniversary, I feel the energy and the donations will continue to grow, and that will be amazing for our student body.”

The Day of Giving totals will be announced during a celebration at 1 p.m., Friday, March 10, at Buffalo Alumni Hall.

The annual drive was established in 2015, and since then, over $3.9 million has been raised through the efforts of the community in donating.
